Terms of Use
Last updated November 2, 2026. These terms cover the IDMyKey app for iPhone and Android.
The app
IDMyKey helps you keep track of your keys: it photographs and measures them, tells you which key is which, and finds one among several. It keeps everything on your phone (see App Privacy). You may use it for your own keys and keys you are responsible for, such as those of a property you manage.
Free and IDMyKey Plus
The free version saves up to 7 keys and includes 25 identifies a year (each Identify or Find in a pile counts as one; the year starts with your first one). Keys you have saved are never locked or deleted.
IDMyKey Plus removes those limits. It is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, bought through the App Store or Google Play at the price shown in the app before you buy:
- New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and is charged.
- Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account. The subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions (IDMyKey > Settings > Plan has a link). Cancelling stops the next renewal; Plus stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- A subscription belongs to the store account that bought it: it carries over to another phone with the same Apple or Google account (use Restore purchases), not between an iPhone and an Android phone.
If prices or what's included change, existing subscribers are told in advance, as the stores require.
No guarantee
IDMyKey measures keys from photos, and a measurement can be wrong. Treat its answers as a helpful guide, not a guarantee, and don't rely on it where a wrong key would cause harm. Keep backups: if you lose your phone or your recovery code, we can't bring back your keys, because we never have them. The app is provided as is, and to the extent the law allows, IDMyKey is not liable for losses arising from its use.
App Store
If you got IDMyKey from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies.
